PlayStation is all set to dominate the mobile gaming market with the recent major acquisition. The mobile gaming market continues to grow exponentially over the past few years. In fact, it’s already a billion dollars industry and has been attracting a lot of new users with each passing day.

PlayStation has already established itself very well in the console gaming market. And now, they’re slowly penetrating the PC market with the ports of its exclusive titles. But now, they have big plans for the mobile gaming sector as they gained the Japanese-based company “Delightworks”.

A few days back, the news made a headline when Aniplex announced this acquisition. And finally, on the 19th of Dec 2021, Aniplex acquired the Japanese gaming company. Most of the fans might not be aware of Aniplex, it’s a Japanese-based multimedia company that’s owned by Sony. Sony’s the company that owns PlayStation as well.

PlayStation, Delightworks, and what more to expect

Many fans might have heard of Delightworks for the very first time. It’s a 2014 formed Japanese gaming company that is the official developer of the iconic mobile game “Fate/Grand Order”. Also, Aniplex is the official publisher of the legendary game Fate/Grand Order.

For fans who are unfamiliar with the “Fate/Grand Order”, Delightworks launched this game back in 2015. And since its launch, this game has become one of the high grossing mobile games in the world. Speaking of the money that this game makes, it already generates revenues in billions.

And thanks to the features like micro-transactions that play a major role in generating huge revenues. As of now, Sony has shared no major details like the cost of this acquisition. But it’s certain that Sony will release some more news about this in the coming few days. To be honest, this acquisition could open up a lot of opportunities for PlayStation in the mobile gaming market. And in the coming years, PlayStation could be one of the biggest players in mobile gaming.
