Since the last few days, there’s been a wave going on the internet. In case anyone missed keeping track of events, a section of gaming fans has filed a petition to get the upcoming Xbox exclusive Starfield on the PlayStation 5. However, it looks like their wish won’t be fulfilled no matter what.
To begin with, PlayStation doesn’t deserve Starfield. There are many reasons, too, to support this argument. It’s been a long time since Microsoft’s gaming console witnessed a massive success when it comes to the exclusives. On the other hand, Sony’s platform is enjoying a winning streak for consecutive years now.
This is why Starfield suits the Xbox more than PlayStation 5

The PlayStation line-up has been going through a dream phase since the last two generations. In 2013, Sony unveiled The Last of Us, which was an exclusive to the PS3 console. The company then followed it up with a sequel in 2020’s TLOU Part II, which was released for the PS4. Both these games turned out to be record-breaking hits. So much so, that a live-action TV series was also revealed earlier this year – breaking global viewership milestones.
Apart from Naughty Dog’s fan-favorite IP, Sony also rolled out another PlayStation exclusive in God of War in 2018. Not to mention that this title also went on to generate massive revenue while paving the way for its anticipated sequel in GoW: Ragnarok last year. Moreover, PS players also received few other exclusives in Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018), Ghost of Tsushima (2020), Horizon: Zero Dawn (2017), and its second part called Horizon: Forbidden West.
Additionally, the PlayStation 5 will soon receive a major exclusive in the form of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in 2023. Now coming onto the Xbox, Microsoft’s consoles have received not-so-good exclusives in the last decade.
For example, there have been numerous Forza entries, along with Halo 5, Halo Infinite, Gears of Wars 4 and its sequel. Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2 have also released in recent years. However, all these in-house projects have mostly failed to generate the level of success PlayStation has received.

Simply put, PlayStation fans have had enough to enjoy so far. And they will definitely keep getting even more exclusives to have the best experience possible going forward. Xbox, however, has finally got one shot. After a long time, it’s got the opportunity to woo Xbox lovers with something like Starfield.
That’s the basic reason why the petition filed by certain gamers to have Bethesda’s ambitious project on PS5, makes no sense. In other words, it appears to be illogical to say the least.
