Things have been pretty quiet when it comes to changes in Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us until now. The community has been patiently waiting for the annual The Last of Us Day to bring forth the upcoming features in the title. According to recent announcements, the devs have heard the fans’ demands and will reveal new content this weekend for the PlayStation exclusive.

The Last of Us series is one of the best-selling franchises of all time, the original game and its remastered edition both topping the charts for PS3 and PS4 sales, respectively. As for The Last of Us Part 2, everyone knows how huge the title has been ever since its release.

What new will the title offer to PlayStation owners?

As of the time of writing, there have been no hints at the new content the devs will consider for The Last of Us. Moreover, there haven’t been any rumors regarding the new content.

A recent official PlayStation Blog post addressing the upcoming event confirmed that the devs will add new content to the game. It said, “In addition to the merch below, we will be revealing some all-new content on September 26 at 9:00 am PT/6:00 pm CET. Be sure to come back and check it out on TheLastofUs.com/TLOUDay.”

The community and the developers together celebrate their favorite franchise’s success on September 26, The Last of Us Day. Interestingly, the event was formerly known as the Outbreak Day, which was later changed in light of the recent pandemic. Naughty Dog and Sony, besides their own creations, also collaborate with other companies to bring the best for the fans.

Unfortunately, even the insiders are clueless about this year’s event, leaving waiting as the only way to find out. But thankfully fans don’t have to wait for more than a couple of days. Tune in to the event this weekend and who knows, you might get a first look at PlayStation’s first-ever series, Last of Us.
