PlayStation 5 is an excellent console by all accounts. This console has plenty of exclusives to justify its purchase. It has a controller that’s unlike any other and it is powerful enough to run most games at 1440p 60FPS.

But it still lacks a bunch of features, and fans continue asking Sony to somehow bring those features to this console. And now with its latest update, PlayStation 5 might be finally getting said features and much more!

PlayStation 5 has sold over 32 million units; it was launched back in 2020 and selling this many units in three years is not a small feat. Fans everywhere are currently enjoying their favorite first or third-party games on this console. Some in 4k, others in 1440P, as PlayStation gives them that option.

This is how a good console works; it gives gamers freedom on how they wish to play their games. It has a gamepad that increases player immersion with its vibrations and adaptive triggers. You know if you are firing a shotgun or an assault rifle just by pressing a trigger. All these features and yet it was missing a very basic feature such as Discord voice chat.

Fans did not find it convenient, and that’s why they have continuously asked Sony for this feature. And it appears Sony has been listening. Only that they just took a while to react.

PlayStation 5 finally has Discord voice chat. This feature was added to the console through a beta update. Fans can expect this feature to be available out of beta when update 7.00 drops for the console later this month.

We had previously reported that Sony is planning to bring complete Discord support and cloud streaming support for PlayStation 5 with update 7.00.
