PlayStation 5 is one of the most in-demand consoles right now, with almost every gamer desperately trying to get their hands on PS5. Unfortunately, the outrageous demand far outweighs the current low supply of the console due to the global chip shortage. But now, it seems like the long wait is finally over. New PlayStation 5 stocks dropped in the UK at Argos on November 18, 2021.

The high in-demand console is available in-store as well as online in Argos. However, it’s better to head over to the local store as the website is crashing constantly due to extremely high traffic. The retailer has a limited number of stocks right now, so it’s better to go for the bundle instead of the individual console.

However, the new stocks caused a lot of confusion among gamers, with customers not exactly knowing whether the console is in stock. Mainly this vast confusion is because of the traffic on the website.

High demand for PlayStation 5

According to a reliable PlayStation inside, the Argos website is currently showing that the PS 5 is out of stock, but it’s not true. Basically, the website will tell you the PS5 is out of stock if their servers are receiving too much traffic that they are not able to control.

So, it will show that the console is in stock once again when they believe their online server can handle it. Argos also clarifies why some customers are having issues with the purchase process.

Above all, the demand for PlayStation 5 has been so insane that Game has to set up an anti-scalping policy on its website to stop scalpers from bulk buying and then later on selling those same consoles at a much higher rate. Since its official release way back in November 2020, it has been almost impossible to get the console.

As countries implemented social distancing measures, many big semiconductors and chip manufacturing companies had to shut down the manufacturing for health reasons. However, now with everything going back on track, we can expect that the global chip supply issue will ease out gradually in 2022.
