Sony’s latest PlayStation 5 devices are considered very powerful while providing the best experience without breaking a sweat. Whether it’s the console or the controller, both are quite amazing when using together to enjoy any popular title smoothly.

However, one user recently found themselves to be in a slightly unexpected situation. A PlayStation 5 owner recently claimed that their DualSense controller somehow caught fire!

Although the current generation of PS5 products is of amazing quality, one gamer has claimed that their PS5 DualSense controller caught fire recently. Yes, it’s a rare scenario but this user has reportedly witnessed it now.

On Reddit, an individual named u/havla1312 posted several images. They showed a damaged DualSense controller, appearing to be affected by fire. While many gamers will wonder about how it’s possible for the controller to catch fire, in the case of u/havla1312, it appears to be true somehow.

As one can see in the subreddit, the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller is appearing to be melted from the bottom end. Moreover, the user explained their situation in the comments section while replying to other people.

Per u/havla1312, they started their PlayStation 5 and put the fully charged controller on the glass table. Most importantly, nothing else was there on the table apart from the device. A minute later, the DualSense started burning according to the user.

But the main problem lies within the images themselves as it’s still not clear how the device actually caught fire. Because the marks don’t show where the fire originated from in the first place.

Then there’s another possibility of it all being fake. Maybe the burnt controller story was all made-up by their owner. For example, holding a lighter to the bottom side of the DualSense controller might result in a similar outcome. It will be interesting to see if Sony will respond to this incident in case the officials notice it online in the coming days.
