Just hours before Modern Warfare 3’s Campaign Early Access going live, media website CharlieIntel took to X (formerly Twitter) to share some important information. The outlet tried to clarify the ongoing confusion over this year’s COD installment.

In one of its latest posts, CharlieIntel clearly mentioned that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 won’t take up 200 GB of space on players’ consoles and PCs. What they can do to reduce it is uninstalling any of the game packs they don’t require. The actual installation size of COD HQ app is 50 GB. Plus, each pack is basically an add on to the base pack. Thus, deleting any unnecessary pack will automatically decrease the overall file size of MW3.

The 50 GB size of the game is for PCs according to the official specs sheet. Which means on consoles, it may take up around 165 GB with COD HQ and Campaign packs installed. On the other hand, having just the HQ without Campaign packs weighs in around 110 GB.

All things considered, it’s good to see that there’s at least a method for players to prevent the game from swallowing up the storage on their devices. Going forward, it will be interesting to see if the makers have anything to respond or not regarding this entire situation.

What to expect from Modern Warfare 3 Campaign early access release?

The game is set to go live in the next few hours at 10 AM PT. It will unleash a new chapter showcasing the members of Task Force 141. This time, the team led by Captain Price will go against an iconic series villain Vladimir Makarov. Coming after his last appearance in 2011’s original MW3, the ruthless antagonist will pose as the ultimate threat for Price and his men.

Moreover, one can also expect the highly controversial No Russian mission to make a return. But it’s yet to be seen how the devs have revamped it to generate the same kind of reaction from fans that was witnessed more than a decade ago in 2009’s Modern Warfare 2.

The Campaign will have a unique addition of open-combat missions in Modern Warfare 3. They will simply provide a sort of open-world approach to the players in order to accomplish certain objectives. They will get to craft their own desired loadouts based on the given the quests while also going for endless possibilities to finish OCMs.
