However, now it would appear that someone else is closing on that crown with skyrocketed popularity. Of course, the man of the moment is none other than YouTube King, MrBeast.

MrBeast is rapidly catching up to PewDiePie in the subscribers count record. To put it simply, Donaldson is one of the most loved and popular content creators of this time and his fame grew to new heights with his Real World Squid Games recreation video.

The video already has over 200 million views. MrBeast’s YouTube channel has over 89 million subscribers on YouTube and PewDiePie stands at an incredible 111 million mark.

MrBeast’s sudden rise in subscribers count

As pointed out by SocialBlade, MrBeast’s YouTube growth is nothing short of wild at this point. He is already picking over half a million subscribers a week, which means 2.3 million subscribers in just one month. In 2021, MrBeast’s main YouTube channel nabbed over 37 million subscribers.

Assuming that he keeps up this pace, MrBeast will take over the PewDiePie throne within this year, in 2022. With bigger projects in line for 2022, MrBeast is surely planning something big for this year.

However, PewDiePie isn’t really fussed about MrBeast’s sudden rise in subscribers count. In fact, the YouTuber joked started a new drama with MrBeast as he closes in.

In a recent YouTube video, PewDiePie said, “I guess I’m gonna have to start my next drama with MrBeast, Diss track coming — Nah, I’m just joking. I’m not gonna do that”. Well, it seems like the ultimate subscriber war we all have been waiting for is not going to happen anytime soon. PewDiePie is also back from his long January break and is all ready for 2022.
