Infinity Ward has been successful with the original Modern Warfare games as well as the rebooted trilogy. However, Treyarch is also not far behind in delivering an amazing experience to the players. Probably that’s why the studio is regarded as the best developer under Activision. Almost every BO game it has made has been a monstrous hit. But Call of Duty Black Ops 2 is special.
There’s something about this specific installment that makes it unique, compared to other releases. In fact, a lot of gamers have even called it the best FPS title from Activision in the history of the franchise. Simply put, BO 2 is very close to the hearts of many fans who have grown up playing the generation of classic CoDs.
It could be one of the key reasons why there’s now a petition filed to have Black Ops 2 re-released as a remastered title. On Change.org, an individual named Ethan Walker has started a campaign for the game to receive a revival. He wants it to get a similar treatment to 2016’s Modern Warfare Remastered which was a graphically enhanced version of the original.

Ethan explains that remastering BO 2 will only benefit the makers as they will make more money. Plus, the players will be able to have an experience free from bugs, modded accounts, and hackers. It looks like the campaign is catching pace pretty fast as it has already amassed more than 40,000 signatures.
The total goal of the petitioner is to reach 50,000 signatures. It will be interesting to see whether Activision will consider it or not in the coming days. What are your thoughts on this situation? Let us know in the comments.
