Fans had been waiting long for the upcoming title of the popular first-person co-op shooter series, Payday. Few days ago, on September 18, there long awaited anticipation came to an end as Deep Silver launched Payday 3 in early access mode. But was it really worth the wait?
Getting hands on the game wasn’t a very good experience at all for the gamers, especially for the PlayStation users. Technical errors, wrong versions, and whatnot. Let’s explore as the drama unfolds.
Payday 3 Early Access: Not a good experience for the players

It would not have been much fun playing this game early, before the release. The early access of the game is right now going through an array of technical glitches and issues. The game servers have struggled severely to stay online because players are coming in hoards to try out this highly anticipated title. Account servers are crashing on consecutive occasions.

In order to play Payday 3 across all platforms, you need to have an account on The Starbreeze Nebula. But upon trying to log into that, it is constantly showing error messages, stating servers were inaccessible. Even the website sometimes goes offline. Although it has come out to be online again, the login issue still persists.

For PlayStation users, this incident makes its way to a whole new level. Upon getting early access to the game, PS users discovered that they were playing an older version of the series instead of the early access Payday 3 version. They have also reported that Payday 3’s crossplay wasn’t enabled as the version they were playing wasn’t synced with other platforms. The path takes a steep turn when the PS5 players find out that they don’t have any access to their in-game rewards and bonuses from pre-ordering the game.

On the other hand, the players who accessed the game through the Epic Games Store find it tough to get past the game’s intro scene. Although according to the company, this issue has been resoleved.

Early access is a way for developers to improve the gameplay by fixing glitches, bugs, and technical faults by taking feedback from the players. But as things stand, it will take a lot more than fixing just bugs and glitches for the developers, and that too in just two days.

Payday 3 is set for a full release on September 21, 2023. But as of now, the game is available to play with early access. Those who have pre-ordered the Silver and Gold Editions of Payday 3, which are $69.99 and $89.99, respectively, will only be able to gain access to the game early. Although pre-orders are still going on.
