Call of Duty Modern Warfare II has gone through a rollercoaster ride so far. While its first season left many players disappointed, the reveal of Season 2 has been nothing less than a breath of fresh air for them. Most of the fans like the content offered in the latest update. Among other things is also the Ranked Play mode was introduced for the Multiplayer experience.

Since its arrival in the game, the redesigned Ranked Play has ended up receiving a lot of praise from most the Call of Duty lovers. While it gives a feeling of competing in the CDL matches, there are also several unique features added to the overall experience, like the Skill Rating (SR) and Demotion Protection. The latter has been a special addition to MWII’s ranked mode. And its growing popularity has even impressed the players of Overwatch 2. So much so that they want a similar system inside the PvP shooter as well.

Overwatch 2 fans want Ranked Play’s Demotion Protection from Call of Duty Modern Warfare II

Modern Warfare II’s Ranked Play has got some improvements in order to prevent the players from losing their ranks quickly. Demotion Protection is one such feature that does the job. Simply put, it helps the players to “avoid immediate relegation after advancing to a new Skill Division. After advancing to a higher Skill Division, players will not lose any SR within the first three games in the new Division”, reads a section from the official blog for Ranked Play.

Recently an Overwatch fan shared a post on Reddit while asking others regarding their thoughts on MWII’s Demotion Protection. The user mentioned that the COD feature implemented for the Ranked mode is quite amazing. Because according to them, Overwatch needs to have something like that right now.

As of now, Overwatch 2’s Ranked system is quite interesting to look at. If a player on one’s team leaves a match and that team loses, then the losing team’s remaining players’ SR loss is the same as it is for any regular game of 5V5 players. Which is not what someone wants to have when it comes to competitiveness. Sustaining a given rank is important.
