Do you ever wish to just go back in time and relive the days of Avengers: Endgame taking over the entire world? In 2019, Marvel Studios presented the pop culture moment of a lifetime with one of the biggest superhero movies in cinematic history. Now the hype surrounding Endgame is likely going to be recreated – this time by Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive’s GTA 6.

The undying popularity and anticipation of GTA 6, despite the biggest leak in gaming history, is telling not only of how big a franchise GTA is but also the level of expectation from GTA 6. Despite being 10 years since the last game came out, fans are still just as eager for the next title. Not to mention that the anticipation for its first-ever official reveal trailer is similar to how all the True Believers felt in the build up to Avengers: Endgame over 4 years ago.

GTA 6 can be ‘the Avengers: Endgame of video games’ in a true sense

Hardcore Marvel fans can still remember when the first-ever details surfaced for Endgame. In fact, the movie’s name itself wasn’t revealed until the main trailer came out in early December 2018. The situation has been similar with the next Grand Theft Auto as well.

What’s even more interesting? Most of the fans knew it, thanks to several clues from Infinity War, that the finale to MCU’s Infinity Saga was going to be called Avengers: Endgame. There was that moment in Infinity War when Dr. Strange says, “We’re in the end game now.” And yet, Kevin Feige’s Marvel team managed to keep fans speculating till the official trailer had released.

Although it’s just a theory, Take-Two and Rockstar are perhaps following in the same footsteps. At least that’s what it looks like. Which means GTA 6 might be the actual title after all. But it’s just that the makers don’t want the mystery to clear before the right time arrives. As of now, it hasn’t for sure.

Get ready to witness long lines outside stores

Another aspect of an unprecedented hype for Avengers: Endgame was the huge queues outside theatres across the globe. No matter how far theaters were from moviegoers’ homes, they wanted to witness an epic experience unfolding in front of their eyes, and on the big screens.

Of course, GTA 6 won’t have a big screen premiere. However, the launch will be massive, nonetheless. While plenty of gamers prefer to oder the game or buy digital copies, retail stores will be packed as well for sure. An out-of-stock situation for physical copies isn’t out of the question either. Even with digital copies, and pre-orders, one can imagine the amount of players/consumers standing outside stores on the very night of the next Grand Theft Auto’s worldwide debut. Similar to Endgame, it will be something special for all gamers out there. Especially for those who have grown up playing every single entry in the beloved open-world franchise.

When the current biggest game in the franchise, GTA V, released, it reportedly made $800 million in its first day. VGChartz had also reported over 7 million pre-orders. While we let that sink in, let’s also remember that GTA 6 is probably going to be a bigger game. And with the amount of time and work going into it, the game will have to deliver big time to meet expectations.
