Genshin Impact offers various options to invest money in the game in order to earn lucrative rewards. The studio has also added micro-transactions that players can use to keep their in-game economy of various important resources in a healthy place. These things might seem handy on the surface, but the reality is something else entirely.

miHoYo has indeed produced a masterpiece game, which has caused a major stir in the community. The game has earned $1 billion within six months because of its monetization tactics. However, the game is not actually worth your investment, as the value offered quickly dissipates with each update. Here are the 5 key reasons, which suggest spending money on this game is a bad idea.

Genshin Impact offers rewards that lose value in the long run

Greedy monetization: This game offers a powerful roster of characters and weapons, which is routinely added to the game. They cannot be obtained again by spending money, as these the limited banners don’t return so often. This greedy monetization strategy is not only giving the studio a bad look, but it does not favor the player base at all.

Items and characters become dated: The community knows the value of each item and character. It is not easy at all to pick them up from the limited-time banners, which also works against it. Each new update of the game, the Abyss floors changes based on the current 5-star character.

This would easily downplay the value of your character and the changing meta will render them outdated. This fact does not support the investment, as the title feels overly expensive.

No Player vs Player content: The game offers no opportunity to trade blows with other players. The game follows the player vs environment concept, which renders your investment futile. Any character in the game can decimate the environment and in the long run even F2P can pick up sufficient characters to beat the game. This makes your investment pointless, and the reward depreciates quickly with each update.

End Game ruins your DPS character: The meta within the end game content changes with each update. It is common knowledge that Abyss floors is the endgame, and it never remains the same. In one particular update, it might favor physical damage, while in another one, it might move towards Pyro damage. This will throw your character in and out of the point, which makes it feel like a coin toss.

Stop spending money at the endgame: It is a common practice for the players to purchase Battle Pass and Welkin Moon to pick up primogems. In the endgame, this practice should be stopped, as the studio usually takes a long time to roll out major content. The filler content is not worth your investment, as no Archons or Fatui agents will ever be added in this phase. This is the major reason why you should refrain from spending money if you have reached the endgame.

It might seem tempting to spend money on the various attractive items that the game offers. However, it would be wiser to take a moment and think about how their value will depreciate over time.
