When he became the CEO of Twitter, Musk made many changes. One that was shocking for the internet community was the announcement of buying legacy marks. The blue ticks, which were hard to get prior to the acquisition, all of a sudden became a premium subscription. There were masses of criticism against this move. Now, yet again, the checkmark is going through a change.
Starting April 15th, only verified accounts will be eligible to be in For You recommendations.
The is the only realistic way to address advanced AI bot swarms taking over. It is otherwise a hopeless losing battle.

From Musk’s recent Tweet, it can be understood that from April 15, the ‘For You’ recommendations on Twitter would be reserved exclusively for verified accounts. This news caught the attention of Piker and he soon was seen commenting on the issue.
HasanAbi was mocking at the fact that from April 15, the people who would have the legacy marks would be the ones who would have paid for it. “Now the only people remaining with a blue checkmark are f**cking dorks,” stated Piker.
The removal of the legacy marks for all accounts and making it solely on the basis of premium membership is a downgraded idea in the eyes of Hasan. Moreover, this would put the verified accounts under a lot of backlashes. That is, with the absence of verified badges for prominent figures, the value of the legacy badge decreases by several folds.
HasanAbi added that he uses Twitter as a means for sourcing news. But he feels that the ‘for you’ section of the platform has been filled with ‘extreme right wing’ posts recently. He finds these to be annoying. He continues to state that the ‘for you’ page on other platforms like TikTok has content that actually matches his taste. But Twitter portrays quite the opposite attitude. That is, he states that the Twitter recommendations are filled with stuff he does not want to see.

Thus making the ‘for you’ section a dedicated space for people who pay for the badge complexes the situation, according to him.
