One can argue that the Sony PlayStation 5 is already a successful console. It has numerous attractive and successful titles that users adore and play on a day-to-day basis. In recent times, God of War: Ragnarok, Sony’s fastest-selling first-party title, made its debut on Playstation 5. With all the success and much more to come, it seems like the console is in a very good spot. However, fans on the other hand think that this next-gen console is yet to reach its peak.

A Twitter user posed a question to the fans as to whether fans would be interested in buying a PS5 Pro console. The comments the tweet received, inclined towards a specific answer.
PlayStation 5 seems to be far from needing an update
Sony PS5 users seem to be pretty satisfied with the current console. Commenting on the tweet, users had a lot to say about the visual fidelity of games that are released on it.
It is a common perception amongst gamers that the PlayStation 5 is yet to see a game that makes full use of its power. As of now, most games that are released on the console are cross-gen, meaning there are very few exclusive games for PS5. Cross-gen games are those that release for both Playstation 4 and 5 at the same time.
A game that releases on both consoles at once is not a game made with a complete focus on the latest console. This means, its visuals are limited due to developers having to make sure the game runs effectively on Sony’s last-gen console.
Notably, God of War: Ragnarok was a cross-gen title. The developers of this successful game famously said that they considered Ragnarok a Playstation 4 game at first. They even said that they wanted it to be a perfect send-off to PS4 hence they focused more on Playstation 4 during the game’s development.

Hence, fans are still waiting for what they call a “Real PS5 game”. And this is why many have inclined towards not wanting a Playstation 5 Pro console. The Pro version of any console signifies the fact that it is more capable and powerful than its non-pro version and can run games better. Fans believe that there is no game to take advantage of a Pro console, as of now.
Users are not ready for a Mid-generation console upgrade
Playstation fans made it clear that before seeing a Mid-gen refresh, they would want to see what the current PlayStation 5 is capable of.
Did we see a current ps5 only game yet? No then I don’t want it

No
There's no current game that pushes the current hardware to its limits yet.
Machine is expensive, getting it right now would honestly just be for bragging rights.
Maybe a slim version because I honestly find the current model pretty ugly.— RpgCrow (@RpgCrow) December 19, 2022
Nope, why would anyone buy that.not really any games yet made which use the full potential of the PS5,and I got already a PS5.
Maybe time to make some games for the so called next Gen consoles, lol 😂😝😜.
Same for Xbox series X , nothing really special out there either.— Racing Haarrley Keen (@HaarrleyKeen) December 20, 2022
There are no valid reasons to buy: the ssd is already fast, and if people expect to get 60+fps, raytracing, native 4k or even 8k for what, 500/600 bucks, then a reality check comes first. Ps5pro aint a rtx4090, not even 3090, unless it costs 2 times the normal one, and I doubt it

Meanwhile, some users showed interest in the need for a Slim version of the console, rather than the Pro. “I would buy a Slim, not Pro,” commented a user.
