The Zelda series has always been about the face-off between the duo and Ganondorf. But this might change quite soon. Like Zelda who might become the torchbearer in future titles, Nintendo’s Eiji Aonuma has also shared future plans for the leader of the Gerudo race.

Veteran voice actor Matthew Mercer has joined the English dub cast of the latest Zelda series. The voice actor has titles like Mortal Kombat, Fortnite, League of Legends, and Overwatch under his belt.

This inclusion of such a renowned actor for the role may hint that Nintendo is planning a grander role for the character. The fans would definitely like to see the main antagonist in a storyline of his own. Or even better a spin-off game with him as a playable character. However, any of these plans have not been confirmed by Nintendo yet.
