The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is undoubtedly the crowned jewel for Nintendo this year. Every Switch fan is eagerly waiting for this game to hit the shelves on May 12. But there is another title that Nintendo fans are looking forward to. It is none other than Metroid Prime 4.

It has been a while since Nintendo has said anything about the next Metroid title. Many fans even wondered if the Japanese giants remembered this game or have given up on it. But Nintendo UK recently shed light on Metroid Prime 4, hinting that this game is still on their minds.

Nintendo subtly hints at them working on Metroid Prime 4

Nintendo first revealed Metroid Prime 4 back in 2017 at the E3. The Japanese game development company Bandai Namco was supposed to be working on this game. But later the news broke out that the American developers Retro Studios, who also created the original Metroid games, took over this game project.

But Retro taking over the project led to restarting the work on Metroid Prime 4. In E3 2021, Nintendo unveiled Metroid Dread and mentioned that the much-awaited fourth Metroid Prime title is still under development. It has been two years since then, and nothing more was heard from Nintendo about this game.

The Twitter user named benjicong recently shared a screenshot of a survey by Nintendo UK for Metroid Prime Remastered. In the survey, the Japanese giants questioned the buyers about their reasons for buying the remastered game. But what was surprising was that one of the options for the options stated that it was an excellent way to spend time until Metroid Prime 4 releases.

Possibly, it is not huge news related to this much-awaited game. But it sure gave hope to many fans who probably speculated that Nintendo gave up on this Metroid Prime game.

When could this Nintendo Switch game be released?

There are no reports about when fans can speculate about the game hitting the shelves. Some doubt that Nintendo might remaster the second and third Metroid Prime games before releasing the much-awaited Prime 4. Fans also think that the game might release during the 2023 holidays. But it is unlikely to release this year because of the upcoming Zelda title’s release.
