When the news of Nintendo working on their next portable console, dubbed Nintendo Switch 2, came forward, it caused an uproar among the fans. They started to eagerly await the launch of the successor of the Nintendo Switch. While the Switch was released in 2017, it is still going strong in the gaming community.

However, fans welcomed the rumors of Nintendo Switch 2 with open arms. Now according to some new rumors, the specifications of the upcoming console have leaked online. Furthermore, the leaked specs point out that the upcoming console will be a worthy successor to Switch.

Nintendo Switch 2 specifications reportedly leaked online

In a recent podcast from YouTuber Nate the Hate, he claimed to have inside information about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console. The YouTuber cited he has been in talks with multiple Nintendo devs working on the upcoming console. He claims Switch 2 will be launched with an 8-inch LCD Screen and a “fairly significant amount of internal flash memory” of 512 GB. Furthermore, he speculates the storage card format will change to 3D NAND storage.

Surprisingly, he also came up with a release timeline for the Nintendo Switch 2. According to the information from devs, Nate claims a late 2024 launch, possibly in September or October. Furthermore, he predicted a new 3D Super Mario Bros. title will be accompanying the launch of Switch 2. In addition, the YouTuber indicated that Nintendo will unveil the next system after the current fiscal year and begin manufacturing in Q1.

The YouTuber has multiple developers saying they know about devkits for the last few weeks for the Nintendo Switch 2. But Nate made a big reveal in the form of backward compatibility. While many fans were wondering whether Nintendo will offer backward compatibility in Switch 2 or not, Nate thinks they will. He, along with his guest MVG, thinks the devs will most certainly solve the issue of backward compatibility before the announcement.
