Nintendo Switch Online is the company’s prime online service. It was started in September 2018, and over the years, Nintendo has added a bunch of valuable features to this service.
Features like Cloud save storage, exclusive discounts, and free game trials were initially offered to subscribers. Eventually, Nintendo revealed that they had bigger plans for this service in the future and they actually came through with this promise. Now that this service is full of enticing features, it appears Nintendo aims to pass it onto the next generation of Switch.

Nintendo Switch’s online service currently offers its subscribers a number of enticing features. This service that initially only had a cloud save feature has evolved into something much more valuable over the years.
From exclusive discounts and game trials to a collection of numerous classic games, these services have been made available by Nintendo to all the subscribers.
Recently Nintendo even added Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games to this collection and fans couldn’t be happier. Previously Nintendo even added a Super Mario battle royale game to this service. And fan-favorite battle royale title Tetris 99 was also available to the subscribers of Switch Online.

It would not be an exaggeration to say that Nintendo has put a lot of work into this service. And it would only make sense if this service would carry on to their next console. Recently, it appears that CMA has leaked the possibility of this happening.
A document that Nintendo submitted to CMA mentions, “Nintendo Switch Online has been excluded from our shares as Nintendo’s cloud gaming service is very limited. Nintendo’s cloud gaming service is only available on the Nintendo Switch device and [REDACTED].”

Fans believe that this ‘Redacted’ device is actually Nintendo’s upcoming next generation of console, and if that’s the case, then this document clearly states that Nintendo’s next console would also be using this service.
Would this new console finally bring GameCube to Switch Online?
While nothing of such sort has been revealed officially or by leaks, we can only hope that in case Nintendo makes this service available to the users of Nintendo Switch 2, then they would also expand on those classic games!
