The ongoing chip shortage crisis has affected the gaming industry in various ways. Manufacturers have faced serious issues in terms of supplying more consoles to the consumers who want the latest generation of popular brands.

Well, despite the present scenario, it looks like Nintendo Switch has remained unaffected. That’s because it has been the top-selling console so far for the present year.

According to VGChartz, Nintendo Switch topped the list of best-selling devices in May 2022. It managed to keep the Xbox Series X|S on the second spot while the PlayStation 5 was the third highest-selling device.

Moreover, Nintendo Switch is also the top console for the entirety of 2022 in terms of sold units.

On the other hand, the Xbox Series X|S stood as the second-best series of consoles. It was also the only hardware platform to witness dollar sales growth on a year-to-year basis in May and year-to-date.

In other news, VChartz also reported that Elden Ring was the best-selling game of last month. This is great for the FromSoftware RPG after it had slipped to the second position in April. The biggest release of the year has kept the players hooked and invested in its mesmerizing world of the Lands Between.
