Nintendo Switch has millions of fans around the world; a 107 million+ to be a bit more precise. The 2017-release is not only extremely portable but also supports many exclusive games. It also offers fans a subscription service, letting them access titles at exclusive discounts, online multiplayer support, free games, and more.

Nintendo Switch Online, as the subscription service is called, has just received some new content. In addition, Nintendo also launched a new subscription service for users who have some money to spare and would like to safeguard their Switch.
Nintendo Switch Online gets 4 new games
As fans may know, Nintendo Switch Online is the standard subscription that offers discounts, many NES and SNES games, cloud saves, and the much-needed online multiplayer support. On the other hand, players can also access a premium Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. The expansion pack comes with more games from retro platforms like N64 and Sega Genesis, plus some free DLCs.

With the latest update, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack users have received 4 new Sega Genesis games for their collection. They are:
- Comix Zone
- Target Earth
- Zero Wing
- Mega Man: The Wily Wars
The above 4 Sega classics are now available for Switch Online + Expansion Pack holders. With these new additions, fans now have access to 29 Sega Genesis games on their Switch.
Nintendo’s new repair service is great
Nintendo has launched a brand new repair subscription-based service in Japan. However, the service is expected to expand to other countries too. Users can pay a nominal $1.50 per month or $15 per year to safeguard their console from any issues, including water and accidental damage. Moreover, it’s a small price to pay for all the flaws Nintendo’s console has.
The service currently costs 200 Yen per month in Japan, which roughly translates to the above quotes. It should hopefully launch in the U.S. in the upcoming months, allowing fans to address the recurring and dreadful joy-con drift issue as well.
Will fans get to see new Nintendo hardware?
Although Nintendo has been trying to please fans and keep them interested, not many were happy with the recent Mini Direct event. Many of them are losing the trust they had in the Japanese giant.
The company also doesn’t seem to be focusing on new hardware or updating its strict marketing policies. Last month, fans faced major issues while trying to order a special edition of the much-awaited Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Following the server issues, Nintendo had to postpone the sale.
Pre-purchase for the #XenobladeChronicles3 Special Edition will be available on the My Nintendo Store on 6/30.

Fast forward to June 30, Nintendo re-released the Collector’s Edition for fans. However, many still couldn’t access the store due to an error message. The whole situation was a mess, which could easily be solved if Nintendo sold its titles on major platforms like Amazon, Walmart, or Best Buy.

On the other hand, Nintendo Switch also requires a much-awaited upgrade to its hardware to be able to support more games and attract more fans. Is the delay in releasing new hardware benefitting the company in the long run? Well, that’s something for the future.
