Nintendo Switch could see a drop in price in Europe from next week (Monday). According to a reliable source, the Standard Nintendo console will cost €270 from Monday. Currently, its price is €330 in Europe. According to multiple rumors, Nintendo is cutting down the prices in order to hike up the sales ahead of the OLED model launch on 8 October 2021.
This leak comes from a recent tweet made by Nintend’Alerts. The tweet stated that Nintendo is all set to get a price drop of approx €60 next week (which is $70 or $80). This Twitter account has been proven very reliable in the past as well. It revealed the much speculated PlayStation 5’s Ratchet and Clank bundle way before the official confirmation. So this information that has presented itself in the form of a leak seems very reliable right now.

Well, it also makes sense that Nintendo is dropping the price to bring down the Switch cost in Europe in line with other regions. Right now, Buying Switch in Europe is extremely expensive as compared to other regions such as North America and Japan (€330 currently is equal to $390).
For now, the price drop is only for Europe and there is absolutely pin drop silence on price drop taking place in other regions around the world.
All that said, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if Nintendo cuts down prices of Switch elsewhere as well. Nintendo has officially confirmed nothing yet. But, as has been mentioned before, this may be a just temporary cut down in price in order to clear out all the remaining stocks.
