This time, the comparison comes with the sales of the vintage 3DS in Japan that was released in 2011. The 3DS was a modestly hit model for Nintendo and was quite popular in Japan.

The Nintendo Switch will be sold in Japan for the 61st month in March 2022. When the releases were aligned, the Switch outsold the 3DS by 339,020 copies in the previous month. The Switch has outsold the 3DS by 3.02 million copies in the last year. The Switch presently has 3.95 million more units than the 3DS.

February 2016 is the 61st month for the 3DS. The Switch sold 24.42 million copies during the same time period, while the 3DS sold 20.47 million. The 3DS didn’t sell as well as the Switch until the 96th month.

The Nintendo Switch is performing phenomenally well and outperforming all competitors out there in the market. Even so, it is going well than its predecessors as well. A proud moment for Nintendo, for sure!
