Although Nintendo is a beloved company among gamers, it just received unwanted attention for a seemingly wrong reason. And it’s directly related to the upcoming Switch Sports simulation title in April.
While the game itself looks promising, going by the recent trailer reveal during Nintendo Direct, Switch Sports is yet to provide its early impression. For that same purpose, the developer and publisher came out with a piece of information for an Online Play Test for the game.
Strangely, the details for the registration to participate in the online test also included a weird condition. And it is mandatory for everyone signing up.

Nintendo doesn’t want players to share feedback on Switch Sports!
Liam Robertson, the widely followed industry insider, shed light on this situation in one of his latest tweets. Commenting on the issue, he wrote that the people working at Nintendo are somehow “dumb and out of touch.”
In more news of Nintendo being dumb and out of touch: they are prohibiting players of the Nintendo Switch Sports online playtest from sharing *anything* on social media about it. https://t.co/UWdnCUR9G1 pic.twitter.com/yboRpRZLBS

Well, the reasons for this kind of criticism are Nintendo’s own actions. Here’s what the publisher mentioned, officially, while sharing the registration information on Switch Sports’ online Play Test:
**By registering to participate in the Online Play Test, you agree not to share information about the Online Play Test publicly, including the sharing of screenshots or video footage from the game on social media.”
It implies that any Switch Online member who wishes to participate cannot share anything after finishing up with the online test. This simply means that sharing the experience is not allowed by Nintendo.
However, it sounds absolutely unimaginable, coming from the maker of Mario and Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
If the testing players are not allowed to share early impressions, fans who are curious to know about Switch Sports won’t be able to have an idea of what to expect from it. And that’s exactly what some of the users, on Twitter, mentioned while calling out Nintendo.
Who is running Nintendo these days? Because this is some backwards thinking.
You would get far more word of mouth and virtually free advertisement when people talk about the beta test like King of Fighters and Elden Ring etc.
I didn't even know a switch sports was coming out.— KeeperOfWind (@KeeperOfWind) February 16, 2022
Wow. The online test is what sold me on Mario Tennis, and I'm probably not gonna be able to play the demo of this so I was gonna watch videos of it. I don't get how they keep consistently being so tone deaf to the 21st century.
