Earlier today, Nintendo made it to the headlines post acquiring land worth billions. It’s true, the acquisition took place at the company’s birthplace, Kyoto, in Japan. Moreover, the land exists just next to the company’s existing Kyoto HQ. In fact, they also released the land acquisition documents, maintaining transparency. Before the acquisition, the land belonged to Kyoto’s Govt, which was used as the Foundation Support Factory and Disaster Prevention center.
Moreover, the gaming giant will use the land for research and development purposes (R&D reinforcement). And is all set to build its R&D facility, which will be called “Corporate Headquarters Development Centre”. With an expected completion date of Dec 2027, it’ll be a 12-floor steel-framed building with an approx 38,000 m of floor area. Moreover, Nintendo paid around a whopping $5 billion Yen, which equals around $40 million USD. Undoubtedly, it’s a big move, and this hefty investment’s likely to add value to the company.

How about we build a factory that has the ability to make a decent gpu for the switch so botw2 can be played in 60frames.

a box with a couple hundred windows, nintendo's architectural design is outstanding

I really hope the interior looks more modern/spacious, I feel like it's a bit of a waste to rebuild if workers would just feel like it's the same office @ a different location
Then again Im not sure what other considerations went into this plan, maybe it's closer to the city etc
