Nintendo seems to be doing a lot of weird things lately. And most of them are related to its recently unveiled Switch Sports title during the Direct event earlier this month.

Now, another latest report seemingly reveals that Switch Sports won’t be coming for the Nintendo Switch Lite console.

In case you all missed it, Switch Sports is basically Nintendo Wii Sports arriving back, with a different name though. It’s a collection of various sports events that will be featured in the video game. Players will be able to enjoy them individually, in teams, or in a complete free-for-all format.

However, it won’t be just an updated version of Wii Sports. Instead, Nintendo Switch Sports will take a majority of inspiration from its past iteration. Also, it’s not going to be a re-release either, but a fresh title in itself.

In terms of offerings, Switch Sports will provide six different games to the players. It will include Badminton, Bowling, Chambara, Soccer, Tennis, and Volleyball. While most of them are known to everyone, Chambara is a sword-fighting Japanese game.

While it will be offering so much, it seems like not all Nintendo owners will be able to have fun with Switch Sports. As reported by Nintendo Life, the video game won’t make an appearance on the Switch Lite console.

It came to light after a player, trying to participate in the Online Play Test, shared this problem. Probably they were owning a Lite, and after getting this message from the image shown in the tweet, couldn’t do anything but to share the frustration:

The Online Play Test, set to take place this weekend, will not get the compatibility for the Switch Lite, going by the above-mentioned tweet and the message. It might be due to an obvious reason though. Simply because the console lacks detachable controllers and even connectivity to a TV.

So that’s the case right now and the users of the Switch Lite will have to live with that. Unless they decide to buy a Nintendo Switch regular model in order to have their wish fulfilled.
