This summer, Bandai Namco is reportedly working on remakes of classic PlayStation platform games. Following Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series, PAC-MAN WORLD Re-PAC is now available for the Nintendo Switch, demonstrating the Japanese developer’s recognition and affection for some of our favorite childhood games.

A new Crash Bandicoot-inspired Pac-Man is here

The latest trailer released on August 26 shows the PAC-MAN WORLD Re-PAC, a remake of the 1999 released Pac-Man World: 20th Anniversary. The game has many resemblances with the hit Naughty Dogs developed game Crash Bandicoot. With Pac-Man now doing parkour and precise platforming, the resemblance is uncanny.

Notably, the game is now available on Nintendo Switch for a price of $29.99 USD. And will have players go through several levels to rescue his Pac-Fam kidnapped by the Ghosts of the Ghost Island. And just like any other Nintendo game, players have to solve puzzles and do precise jumping and timely quests to proceed further.

Apart from Nintendo Switch, the game is also available for PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC. Thus Bandai Namco has not left any platform for players to enjoy the game to its fullest.

What’s new in the latest installation of the legendary series by Nintendo

The new PAC-MAN WORLD Re-PAC has returned with improved UI, fine-tuned mechanics, and updated visuals. Apart from this, Pac-Man can now dodge Ghosts, solve environmental puzzles, butt-bounce, rev-roll, PAC-DOT attack, and hover-jump. Although many movements are similar to the previous games, the animation for the latest games is very different from the original one.

Even though it is great news for gamers, Nintendo should be a bit worried about the game. This is because, with the recent integrations and changes in the gaming industry, fans are getting more and more classic remakes, some even including Nintendo OG titles.

Thus it is not surprising to see that games that once came only to Nintendo are now emulated or remade for other consoles as well. But even after that, it is very rare for the console giant to lose its market because Nintendo knows what it’s doing.
