2023 appeared great for Pikmin fans. This franchise’s fourth main installment that got developed by Nintendo EPD, Pikmin 4 got released this year on July 21st. Just a few days after its release, Pikmin 4 received much appreciation as a proper real-time strategy-based video game. Fans appreciated its gameplay and experienced the magic of the game.

Following the game’s popularity, developers started an exclusive interview series that focused on revealing some details about the game. This interview created a lot of buzz in the media considering the beautiful details that developers presented to the fans. Following this, Nintendo’s head made an exclusive remark on the game. 

Miyamoto’s comment on Pikmin 

Although the series of Ask the Developer was supposed to be based solely on Pikmin 4, developers revealed their emotions about the whole franchise. Nintendo’s Head Shigeru Miyamoto had long confessed his love for the Pikmin series. Now adding to this, Miyamoto stated that apart from being really cute, Pikmin characters are Nintendo’s Most Global Characters– “In fact, I consider Pikmin to be Nintendo’s most global characters. Since the promotional campaign we launched over ten years ago, we’ve been saying, ‘Pikmin are all around us.'”

Adding to his comment, Shigeru Miyamoto seemed to convince his fans that Pikmin characters represent no age or nationality, which is a unique thing about the game. He said that he wished for more people to be aware of Pikmin characters and play the game-“I hope more and more people become aware of Pikmin and play Pikmin games.” Miyamoto’s comment surely made fans crazily excited to experience the magic of Pikmin 4. Adding to his comments, Miyamoto seemed to favor his favorite child over Mario. However, fans were apprehensive to agree with him as Mario appeared more globally recognizable after the movie’s success.

Deets of Pikmin 4

Pikmin 4 seemed more three-dimensional compared to its previous three installments. Speaking of that, Hiramuki from the developers’ team confirmed that they changed the in-game camera perspective to help players experience the world from the Pikmin characters’ eyes. Furthermore, the team added the sound keeping this in mind, which made the overall gaming experience quite marvelous for players. Miyamoto added that in this new game, they focused more on bringing Pikmin characters as part of the real world. To do that, they kept more real objects in the trailer to show how small Pikmins are in size.
