In a recent announcement by console giant Nintendo, they confirmed that a Pokemon x Splatoon 3 collaboration is going to take place from Friday, Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. to Sunday, Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. PT. The Splatfest will be a pre-celebration for the release of the upcoming Pokemon games Scarlet and Violet.

According to the official Nintendo page, “The Splatsville hub area gets decorated in a fancy way, and players with any Nintendo Switch™ Online membership can choose to champion one of three causes. After you make your choice, you’ll participate in Splatfest Battles, where the goal is to ink as much of the stage as you can without getting splatted too often.”

Why is it so important from a fan’s standpoint?

If thought carefully, this Splatfest is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience. Not because of it coming back after three years, but because of the timing of it. Splatoon 3 is completing one month soon, and along with this, the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are releasing just days after the one-month anniversary.
