Every Racetrack In Wave 1 Of Mario Kart 8

With this in mind, eight new racetracks are all set to get launched next month. In total, these 8 racetracks will be split into two different cups-  Golden Dash Cup and the Lucky Cat Cup. With this, let’s have a look at the 8 racetracks making their way to Mario Kart 8 with Wave 1.

Ninja Hideaway (Mario Kart Tour)

First up on this list, we have Ninja Hideaway from Mario Kart Tour. In this race track, players can alternate between two routes – one main, ground-level route and one elevated route. The racetrack is filled with multiple obstacles like a spiked ceiling and, of course as the name suggests ninja Shy Guys.

Sky Garden (Mario Kart: Super Circuit)

Next up on the list, we have Sky Harden from Mario Kart: Super Circuit. It is one of the most hyped and loved racetracks in the entire Mario Kart series. It majorly takes place on a clobbered road atop the sky. As the name suggests, it’s a beautiful garden racetrack above the clouds. This course has no major obstacles.

Shroom Ridge (Mario Kart DS)

Next up on the list, we have Shroom Ridge from Mario Kart DS. This is one of the most interesting racetracks in the entire series. It takes place on a public road with all the crowd, traffic, and choices with cars moving in the opposite direction.

Tokyo Blur (Mario Kart Tour)

Once again, from Mario Kart Tour, we have Tokyo Blur. As the name suggests, this course is highly inspired by Tokyo as it makes its debut in the city’s namesake tour, the Tokyo Tour.

Coconut Mall (Mario Kart Wii)

Next up in wave 1, we have Coconut Mall from Mario Kart Wii. Again, as the name suggests, the racetrack takes place at a mall. Some of the obstacles include the escalator inside the mall that changes its direction after some time, dash panels with small patches, and more.

Choco Mountain (Mario Kart 64)

Choco mountain from Mario Kart 64 is another very popular racecourse from the entire Mario Kart franchise. Initially, the race starts out as a simple straight road but as the player progresses the roads become curvier and curvier with time. After all the thrilling twists and curves the road finally takes players to a U-turn and then a straight road.

Toad Circuit (Mario Kart 7)

Toad Circuit from Mario Kart 7 is the first track of the mushroom track. It’s one of the most simple tracks of the franchise with single roads and no obstacles owned by a toad (as the name suggests).

Paris Promenade (Mario Kart Tour)

The last racecourse is again from Mario Kart Tour. It’s the tour’s signature and most popular course. The course is majorly inspired by Paris, France as it begins at a road facing the Arc de Triomphe.

However, interestingly, something worth noting here is that the wave 1 DLC racetracks are mostly from the widely popular Mario Kart tour title (mobile game).

No doubt, it’s a pretty big surprise for all the Mario Kart 8 fans but it also has the potential to split the fanbase in a big way. The majority of the Mario Kart 8 community that doesn’t really want to buy the pass will be missing a major chunk of the game’s content. Or will they? Surprisingly, the seasonal pass is absolutely free for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers.

As it turns out, players are able to play the courses locally as long as one player in the group has purchased the pack. However, unfortunately, the wave of the DLC pack cannot be purchased separately.

As a whole, the courses, and racetracks are at work right now. They are likely to undergo visual improvement and polishing so that the final product will be worth all the prolonged wait. Additionally, as per some reports and rumors, a number of widely popular and loved characters from past Mario Kart series are also going to make their debut in Mario Kart 8. Though it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet at this point.
