Nintendo is looking to silence competition over its place in the console market once and for all. With many fans recently cribbing over Nintendo overlooking Switch, the developers are finally making a move to take matters into their own hands. In the recent past, the Sony PlayStation put out Project Q, which many consider to be a competitor to the Switch 2. With such a divisive market situation, Nintendo took to Twitter to announce Nintendo Direct, scheduled for June 21.

As the gaming community’s grievance finally seems to have reached the ears of the Super Mario Bros. devs, fans wait with mild shivers to know what the studio has in store for them, apart from possible details on the upcoming Pikmin 4.

Nintendo looks to squash industry rumors

Nintendo has been adamant that the Switch isn’t dying out of the market. However, with no new exclusive game announcements in the recent past, the developers have been losing the market to PlayStation and Xbox consoles. On the other hand, after seven years in the market, the Nintendo Switch can’t escape the signs of degrading hardware. With over 120 million units sold, the Switch remains one of the highest-selling video gaming consoles ever.

Nintendo Direct to reveal tons of new information

Nintendo just didn’t stop after announcing the time and date of the Direct program but hinted as to what fans may expect from the showcase. It looks like the devs finally turned their focus on making Switch retain its dominant position in the console industry. The post further revealed that “roughly 40 minutes of information focused mainly on Nintendo Switch titles launching this year”.

Fans were evidently over the moon with the announcement and immediately started speculating which titles are likely to see a comeback on Switch. Some believe the Zelda series may see a step-over to Switch after some of the titles were released on Wii and Gamecube consoles previously and generated poor sales numbers.

Others are convinced that Mario Kart will be announced by Nintendo to try and attract a longer gaming fanbase.

Other fans can’t stop praying for some lesser-known titles to be given a nod at Switch, which includes Pilot Wings and Star Fox. With so much brainstorming on what Nintendo has to offer at the Direct announcement, fans just have to wait a few more hours.
