The Super Mario Bros. movie launched recently to a very good response from fans and a mixed response from critics. While critics were left criticizing this movie’s lack of a fleshed-out story, fans loved all the references, music, voice acting, and visuals of this movie.

And if that was not enough, this movie has so many easter eggs and nods at a sequel that might happen sooner rather than later due to this movie’s success.

The biggest of those hints were a couple of post-credit scenes that hinted at the future of this movie.

In the Super Mario Bros. Movie post-credit scenes, what were they hinting at?

Everyone is talking about this latest animated sensation. Everyone seems to be talking about it, whether they are fans or not. While some critics think this movie is not worth one’s time due to its lack of layered storytelling, others think that it’s worth it for its animation, music, and entertaining setup that does justice to all the characters from Nintendo’s uber-popular IP.

It tells the story of brothers Mario and Luigi who get warped to a different universe, and their struggles against King Kupa Bowser begin. As both of them struggle through this problem separately, the game introduces a bunch of characters to help and support them through their journeys.

While many characters like Captain Toad, Donkey Kong, etc. get a starring role to play, many just get a passing reference, which is not at all bad. And once the movie is over and the heroes win at the end of the day, the credits roll on. Fans are shown two post-credit snippets, one of which shows them the state of Bowser after the events of this movie.

While the other, more special one, show viewers something very special. It shows a dark sewer pipeline, the same one that transfers Mario Bros. to the mushroom kingdom. But this time viewers are shown an egg, colored white and green. This egg cracks and the scene turns black, with Yoshi’s voice filling the room. It’s pretty clear the movie’s makers teased Yoshi for the movie’s sequel. This should hype people up, given the fact that Yoshi’s existence means the next adventure that these plumbing brothers go on is going to be even more action-packed!
