2022 has proven to be the biggest year for gamers. Recent releases like Elden Ring, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and many others, received lots of praise. However, not every game got a timely release as devs postponed many projects. Anticipated games like Starfield, Forspoken, The Legend of Zelda 2, including several others, got delayed. In fact, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector’s Edition also faced a delay.

The game’s Collector’s Edition comes with 3 additional items- Masatsugu Saito’s artwork, a hardcover art book, and a steel case. Due to the delay, you won’t get any of these items upon purchase. And these will be shipped to you later on during autumn 2022. However, the game’s still releasing on July 29th only. Upon buying Collector’s Edition, the fans will get the game without any additional items.

On May 15th, a Twitter user Xenoblade Universe “R-Alpha” shared about it. According to this user, Nintendo announced the Collector’s Edition’s delay on their UK’s online store (website).

The tweet’s image showcases the screenshot from Nintendo’s UK website. Here’s what Nintendo announced:

“The additional contents of the Collector’s Edition (Nintendo Switch SteelBook case, softcover concept art book and outer box packaging) will be delivered separately at a later date (expected delivery timing: autumn 2022). All items will be shipped with free delivery.”

However, the delay isn’t just for the UK; it applies to all countries including the US. Seems like Nintendo’s understocked with the additional item’s inventory.

Looking at the brighter side

This means if you buy the Collector’s Edition, you’ll get the additional items between September and December 2022. Well, that’s a long waiting. However, looking on the brighter side, you’ll at least get the game on the release day (July 29th), as stated by Nintendo. Additional items can wait but the main game can’t, right?
