Nintendo Direct 2023: Princess Peach Finally Emerges From The Shadows of Mario!

Fans have witnessed the character of Princess Peach in endless entries featuring the protagonist of Mario. Well, now it’s time for her to be the center of attraction, in her own story. In case anyone missed keeping track of events, the recent Nintendo Direct just unveiled a massive announcement focusing on Peach.

In other words, the celebrated and iconic character is going to receive her own, standalone video game on the Switch. More details are going to be shared soon by the makers.

What to expect from the Nintendo Switch game featuring Princess Peach?

It’s nearly after two decades, following the debut of Super Princess Peach, that Mushroom Kingdom’s beloved princess is getting her next solo game. Now, she will be in the spotlight instead of Mario. Although a teaser for her own title has been unveiled in the Direct, there’s still no further information available. The storyline is under wraps as of now.

Talking about the 26-second clip, shown during the Nintendo Direct, it shows Princess Peach going against the enemies while venturing through a dark city. In the end, she reaches a cherry blossom tree on which she uses her magic in order to bloom.

Shortly after, she can be seen on a platform that transports her to a stage. After that, she undergoes an amazing magical transformation. With that, the teaser trailer ends without mentioning any launch date. However, the makers have revealed that the game will release in 2024.

If one has to pick more details out of the teaser, it’s certain that Princess Peach’s solo adventure will be a 2.5D side-scroller. Moreover, she appears to have a companion as well, shaped as a star, who will help her during fights and the overall journey.

Although things considered, one can say that Peach isn’t the damsel in distress anymore who gets rescued by Mario. This time, she’s going to carve her own path by showcasing her powers and strength.
