Alongside all these titles that were already leaked in some form before, there was one game that many wanted for this console. It’s as if Nintendo was very carefully listening to their fans, as was the publisher of the Metal Gear series.

A while ago, during Sony’s PlayStation 5 showcase, Konami revealed a very fancy remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 with the reports that this game will be coming to PS5, Xbox consoles, and PC. Now, finally, Konami has announced the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 1 for all those platforms, including Nintendo Switch.

Previously, Nintendo was left off the list for a potential release of Metal Gear Solid. It appears Konami was waiting for this recent Nintendo Direct to make it official. This new collection would feature the first three games in Hideo Kojima’s excellent stealth action sci-fi series.

Metal Gear Solid, which launched for the PlayStation 1 a long time ago, would be the first game to be featured in this collection. It would feature Solid Snake from an isometric perspective and task players with infiltrating enemy territory to eliminate the titular Metal Gear.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty would feature two protagonists, Solid Snake and Raiden. Players would once again be tasked with infiltrating enemy territory – a huge military ship. The game features much-improved AI as well as insanely better visuals than its predecessor.

Finally, the diamond in the crown of this collection is Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. This game would feature Snake, or Big Boss, on his mission in the jungles of Tselinoyarsk. He survives by covering himself in weird camouflage, eating wildlife meat, and fighting some really weird enemies.

This collection would also feature the classic Metal Gear Solid titles such as Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Snake’s Revenge, the very original games that were released for MSX2 and NES.

Alongside this game, fans would be able to enjoy a Metal Gear digital graphic novel as well as the soundtrack of these games via this collection. These games came too late for this console, but they have arrived in one hell of a package indeed.
