With this currency, players can unlock digital wallpapers, and even physical rewards like posters and keychains. Significantly, the company has now added the same functionality to Switch Online. And users even get access to Switch Online exclusive benefits.

You can head over to the NSO icon on the Switch home screen and then choose the ‘Missions & Rewards’ section. Here, users will find a simple list of all the things you could do to garner some Platinum Points on the fly.

These are tasks that Nintendo claims “you’re probably already doing with your Nintendo Switch Online membership, like playing online or trying out the library of classic games.”

However, these missions are exclusive to Switch Online, so users would need a membership before they could access them. And with the newly added perks, the membership is now more appealing than ever.

Users can redeem their points for member-exclusive icon elements and more fun rewards. Nintendo states:

“You can get frames, characters, or background elements to create your own user icon.”
