Although fans loved the plot of Tears of the Kingdom and were hoping for a DLC, the producer has confirmed that the team has given their best already in the franchise. While giving an interview to Japan’s famous Famitsu magazine, producer Eiji Aonuma said-

There are no plans to release additional content this time, but that’s because I feel like I’ve done everything I can to create games in that world. In the first place, the reason why we chose this time as a sequel to the previous game is because we thought there would be value in experiencing a new kind of play in that place in Hyrule. Then, if such a reason is newly born, it may return to the same world again. Whether it’s a sequel or a new work, I think it will be a completely new way to play, so I’d be happy if you could look forward to it.”

Aonuma’s statements may have disappointed fans looking forward to additional Tears of the Kingdom content. However, he might have given a silver lining. His statement implies that they could focus on a new Zelda title. Moreover, there’s always a chance they could revisit Hyrule in future.

Into the world of Tears of the Kingdom

Tears of the Kingdom is truly an open-world game, in every sense of the term. It allows players to explore the realms of Hyrule with full freedom. Released in May this year, Tears of the Kingdom gave players the liberty to explore the mysterious floating islands of the sky and exciting quests and objects into the depths of the mythical land of Hyrule.
