Latest data has revealed the top selling consoles in the US for March 2022. And without a doubt, Nintendo Switch has emerged out as the number one choice among the buyers. However, it’s the Xbox that actually took a giant leap last month, edging out arch rival PlayStation by a massive margin.

Xbox Series X|S staying strong with solid lead over PlayStation 5 while Nintendo reigns supreme!
The evergreen console war between Microsoft and Sony is known to everyone already. For the past few years, the PlayStation has managed to hold its ground against the Xbox while staying one step ahead. Thanks to the exclusives like The Last of Us, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Horizon, the console has always been a go-to product for most of the consumers.

Lately, however, things have begun to change drastically. The Xbox is now starting to expand its fanbase further, and the latest sales figures are a clear proof of that.

As reported by VGChartz, and initially shared by NPD, the Xbox Series X|S was the second-best selling gaming console line-up in the US for the month of March 2022. Despite losing out the top position to Nintendo Switch, Microsoft’s latest generation of devices received a gigantic boost.

While the Switch sold around 595k units in the American market, the Xbox Series X|S was only slightly behind, with an impressive number of 555k sold units.
I still need to go through the NPD figures, but here are @VGChartz estimates for March 2022 before adjustments are made:
NS: 595K
XSX|S: 555K
PS5: 259KThe order matches NPD and has Xbox Series X|S setting an Xbox record for the month, which we know is true.

On the other hand, PlayStation 5 saw the lowest amount of sales with 259k units reaching to the consumers. That maybe due to the fact that the next generation of Sony’s console has also remained mostly out of stock. Still, these figures will surely prove to be worrisome for the company.
