Nintendo is known for being pretty harsh on all kinds of wrongdoers on its platform. They have taken some really strong action against cheaters and shady activities. Previously, Nintendo even sued a bunch of people over distributing ways to hack the Nintendo Switch. They did the same to people who were running websites that had roms of their classic games on them.

But this time around, they seem to have planned to hit a bit closer to home. Now they are targeting none other than Nintendo Switch users!

Games are expensive, and some games are just way too overpriced for the value they offer their buyers. What does one do in such a case? Do they buy that game, or do they wait for it to go down in price? People usually go with the second option; it’s not uncommon for people to just wait a bit and then purchase the games they want.

But some cannot wait; they really want to have that game, but they do not want to pay the full price. What do they do? They look for discounts, and sometimes they even go the sharing route. They purchase a game and share their account with someone else so they can both play it at a discounted price.

That is why Nintendo has decided to close the curtain on these practices. They have announced that any account that is found to be indulging in such practices will be banned. Currently, Nintendo’s Japanese website lists the things players should not be doing to avoid getting banned.

  • Selling/purchasing a Nintendo Account that has already purchased downloadable software, etc.
  • Proxy sales/purchase of products using a third party’s Nintendo Account temporarily
  • Paid software sharing using the Nintendo Account system
  • Transferring Nintendo account information to a third party, falsifying save data, acting as a substitute for playing, etc., or requesting it
