Animal Crossing: New Horizons is one of the most popular titles in the Animal Crossing series. A few months back, Nintendo itself reported New Horizons has sold over 37.62 million copies worldwide. Indeed, it’s a monumental achievement for a game that only has been released for two years.
Furthermore, developers were able to catch a lot of players’ attention with the launch of the 2.0 update. The 2.0 update introduced several new features, characters, and mechanics in ACNH. Many veterans login back into their old accounts to encounter Brewster and the Roost. Unfortunately, Nintendo itself announced it will no longer release major updates for New Horizons after the 2.0 update.
However, developers have been constantly updating the game with regular minor updates. The minor updates comprise seasonal changes, events, items, and much more. Continue reading to find out more about the upcoming changes in the May update.

The first May event that players will encounter in ACNH will be May Day and will run from May 1 to May 7. May Day tasks players to solve challenging mazes for interesting prizes. To access the maze, players must obtain the May Day Ticket from Tom Nook and take the May Day Tour via Dodo Airlines.
- Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day does not appear as a standard event in New Horizons; however, it appears as a Nook Shopping seasonal event. The event runs throughout the month of May and players can buy an exciting item during the event. This includes the Thank-You Mom Mug from Nook Shopping for 600 Bells.
- International Museum Day
The museum is one of the most iconic buildings in the Animal Crossing series. It is a facility that displays every Bug, Fish, Painting, Art, and Fossil you donate to Blathers. Thus, Nintendo introduced the International Museum Day event, which lasts from May 18 to May 31.
