The Nintendo Switch was launched as a way to change the way people played video games. Or more accurately, as a way for gamers to take their console games with them wherever they go. Its flexibility is what became the source of this console’s success. Further, its unique design enabled users to connect it to a screen wherever they went. A small handy dock and two unique controllers made this console an excellent package for a portable gaming enthusiast.

It’s a winning formula. However, Nintendo gamers know that the brand loves to switch things up to keep them fresh for their fans. Moreover, the Switch was a response to the poor sales of the Wii U. There’s got to be a catch with Nintendo Switch 2, too, right? A patent suggests there is. This recently leaked document that Nintendo filed late last year suggests big changes to the Nintendo Switch’s design.

It appears the analog sticks of the Nintendo Switch have been reduced to one, and Nintendo has moved the screenshot button to the top of this console. There is a headphone jack as well as a flash cart slot on top of the console.

This particularly means that this console would have most of the bells and whistles of the original, sans the D-pad, as well as a second analog stick, which is pretty unusual. Let’s wait and see how true this latest leak turns out to be.

This console could support features like DLSS and ray tracing, giving it an edge over its more powerful competitors. It is being said that this console is capable of running games like Breath of the Wild at 4K 60 fps, which is something very impressive, given the fact that Nintendo Switch runs the same game at 1080p 30 fps.
