A purported image of Spider-Man 2’s PlayStation 5 press start screen surfaced online. A high-resolution photograph of Peter Parker gazing into a tank housing the Venom Symbiote was posted to Twitter. This straightforward but powerful graphic gives gamers a sneak peek at the narrative they may expect from the eagerly awaited game.

The frame looks like a scene from the story trailer. It has Harry having a glance at what looks like a reserve for the alien symbiote. Fans compared the frame to a glimpse in the narrative trailer showcase that had Harry and his father around the same reserve. The scene shows Harry wearing the same gray shirt that he wears on the press start screen. 

Decoding the frame 

After the leaked title frame went viral, a lot of speculations began around the possible start of the game. Most of the fans believe that this wouldn’t be the definitive play start frame. Basically, the speculation suggests that there wouldn’t be a direct transition in the game, rather a cut would be involved, to begin with the gameplay like its predecessor Spider-Man. 

As a matter of fact, the people working over at Eurogamer on the Portugal site had tweeted a similar title screen but with a different angle. So, the possibility of directly transitioning in the game also seems highly plausible. Another interesting theory suggests that the Harry-Symbiote first interaction can be treated as a flashback before letting the players dive into the real action of Miles Morales and Peter Parker swinging together.
