Sony finally announced The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered last week. As the name suggests, this title will be an enhanced version of its previous self. It will feature a bunch of new features and some new content for PlayStation 5 gamers to enjoy. This includes previously cut missions and a brand-new Rogue-like mode.

Besides every enhancement that Naughty Dog will bring to it, The Last of Us Part 2 Remaster’s new Rogue-like mode is getting all the attention. And now, some new information about it has dropped.

The Last of Us Part 2 No Return mode will include 12 levels and more playable characters

It was a pleasant surprise for everyone when Sony dropped a trailer for this remaster out of nowhere. The game promised most of the usual bells and whistles. The remaster will come with a 4K mode, increased texture resolution, increased level-of-detail distances, improved shadow quality, an animation sampling rate, and some more changes that have yet to be revealed.

The most exciting of all the recent additions, however, is the Rogue-like survival mode called “No Return”. This mode will allow players to choose their preferred character and play through a bunch of randomized encounters. These encounters will keep adding unique twists to keep players on their toes. And now, it has been revealed that this mode will have 12 levels to complete. According to the tweet that shared the information from a former Naughty Dog employee’s LinkedIn profile, these levels will be based on locations in the game.

Further, players will be able to play as

  • Joel’s brother Tommy,
  • Ellie’s girlfriend, Dina,
  • Dina’s ex and most loyal friend, Jesse,
  • Lev
  • Mel

and possibly more characters.

It looks like Sony and Naughty Dog took the feedback from The Last of Us Part 1 launch to heart. They have decided to give players more for their money than before. Now a debatable aspect is the price. Naughty Dog hasn’t revealed the price, so it’s safe to assume it will cost the game’s price + $10. Why? Because players with the ps4 version can upgrade for $10. While there’s so much to look forward to, there’s an unsung aspect to the update; Dualsense support.

People should not overlook the promised Dualsense support.

The one feature of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered that no one is talking about is the added Dualsense support. This means that players will now get a better feel for the weapons that they will be using in the game. Imagine feeling every shotgun blast or the swing of a machete as you cut through WLF soldiers, Scars and infected. The immersion in this remaster will be through the roof.

One thing that every developer needs to realize is that Dualsense is one of PlayStation 5’s most interesting features. Overlooking this controller’s features will be unfair to the fans purchasing these games specifically on the PlayStation 5 console.
