It looks like there’s no stopping the Call of Duty franchise now. Following major leaks and rumors, the next major installment from Activision has been officially unveiled. With this new development, the publisher will keep the fans hooked on the ongoing buzz surrounding this year’s action-packed premium offering.

Speaking of the promotional campaign, the makers recently dropped the first-ever clip with the Modern Warfare III logo. However, the most crucial thing to note, alongside the logo, was the presence of a fan-favorite antagonist, Makarov. The video confirms him as a returning character. Initially, he was introduced in the original trilogy more than a decade ago. But this time, everything’s going to change with the ‘ultimate threat’ looming over Task Force 141 members.

The 41-second clip showing the logo started with waveforms on screen that disintegrated and took the audience on a journey into the past. The clip starts with Task Force 141 leader Captain Price mentioning a familiar name. Towards the end of the video, another voice surfaces and one can assume that it’s none other than Vladimir Makarov’s. “Never bury your enemies alive”, says the mysterious figure as he appears on the screen for a few menacing seconds.

To know more, players will need to wait for a full-length trailer featuring Makarov. Yes, it’s almost on its way now, as announced by the makers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. A trailer clip is already scheduled on YouTube for Wednesday, August 9.

Who plays Vladimir Makarov in Modern Warfare III?

Thanks to some trusted insiders, we now have an answer to this burning question. Going by a report from renowned scooper Ralph on Twitter, it seems like Bulgarian actor Julian Kostov will play the role of the iconic antagonist. Ralph recently shared an article on his website WhatIfGaming. In it, he mentioned the name of the popular actor, known for his performances in shows like Netflix’s Shadow and Bone.

Additionally, Julian has also worked on other projects also, including A Discovery of Witches and Berlin Station. The actor began his career in Bulgarian and British productions. Later, he showed a deeper interest in video games as well. Talking about some of his notable works in the industry, he’s been part of Tom Clancy’s The Division, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, A Way Out, and CrossfireX.
