Netflix decided a while ago that it would start publishing video games, and it also decided that it would start offering games to its mobile phone users through its more premium tiers. This led to games like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and others making an appearance on this platform.
But Netflix was not only planning to bring some games to mobile, they were in fact planning to be a publisher and had acquired a really talented indie studio.
Oxenfree developer Night School Studio was acquired by them, and it was announced that Netflix would be publishing their next game, Oxenfree II. And now, long after that announcement, that game might finally have a launch date!

Oxenfree is a side-scrolling, supernatural mystery or horror graphic adventure game developed by Night School Studio that was launched in 2016 for pretty much every platform imaginable. The game boasted a highly detailed narrative with a humane touch to it.
It was positively received by gamers as well as critics and quickly became a massive success. It featured a group of friends who visit a small island, and somehow, they unleash a paranormal entity on this island, and the game is how they get rid of it.

As the game progresses, the player has to make certain decisions such as deciding whom they want to be a better friend to, etc. And these decisions eventually lead the player toward one ending or the other. This ending totally depends on how and with whom the player chooses to interact. It has a number of endings, and they all depend on how one chooses to play it.

For such a small game, this kind of depth was a huge feat, but what was even more commendable was the fact that this game taught players a lesson or two about what goes on in it.
And that’s why the idea of its sequel excited fans. Though an official release date has not been announced yet, it looks like it would be announced soon. Recently, PlayStation Game Size mentioned on its Twitter account that this game might launch in July this year.

It remains to be seen how authentic this information is, but fans are already getting hyped for the sequel they’ve wanted for so long.
