Recently, Blizzard revealed which class was the most popular, and the answer might come as a shock to Diablo fans! Rod Fergusson, senior Vice-President at Blizzard Entertainment, revealed to fans on Twitter which class is picked the most in Diablo 4.

The class system in Diablo, or even most RPGs, is a crucial factor. It dictates the way players experience the game and move forward through the narrative. Similarly, Diablo 4 offers a class system to players to offer varied gameplay.
Fans were quite surprised to know the Sorcerer class was the most popular in the game. In the week following Diablo 4’s release, Vice-President Rod Fergusson revealed the popularity of the Sorcerer class. It seems players like this class better than others, with the majority of players currently using it.

The Sorcerer class offers a wide range of abilities and equipment for players to use. For starters, it offers elemental powers for players to use. This includes frost, fire, and lightning. In addition to this, the spells players can use deal heavy damage. In fact, the class allows players to inflict the most damage on opponents.

Some speculated the reason this class is popular is because of the ‘Ice Shard’ ability. The ability has no cooldown. Moreover, it does not require a lot of mana to use, making it perfect to blast through enemies with ease.

Adding on to its benefits is the class not receiving any nerfs. It is quite common to see nerfs come through during opening weeks, yet this class remains untouched. As a result, the Sorcerer class currently holds the top spot!
The class system
Diablo 4’s class system takes from old Diablo games. All the classes that are in the game featured on one title in the past. This does not mean these classes are in the exact form as they were in previous games. Developers took these classes and changed abilities and skills so that they fit the current game.
