There are quite a lot of franchises that have established themselves in various frontiers. They would come out as manga, then transition into a television/movie adaptation, and eventually become a video game.

Vice versa is also possible, and The Last of Us is a prime example of this. Another franchise that became a fan-favorite over the years is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and it seems like they are releasing a brand new game for the franchise with high expectations.

An AAA title based on a popular franchise is no new thing. But these announcements always create heaps of excitement. The new TMNT is doing just that. The teases of what the game has to offer are now out, and it sure is interesting.

The game is set to be an action RPG, and will probably take a step away from the predecessor game. The developers mostly will divulge into new and unique mechanisms. Additionally, the game will be set in a more mature tone compared to its previous games.

This new game will be the adaptation of the popular NY Times bestseller, The Last Ronin. The game will be set in battle-engulfed New York, where the last remaining Turtle is on the pursuit seeking justice for his lost family. We are not revealing the name of the lone survivor, as this might be a spoiler for some. Do check out the narrative of the book for the reveal.

Additionally, the title is expected to be a single-player game. And players would mostly be controlling the remaining turtle, unlike the previous games where you could play as any turtle from the Ninja family. Doug Rosen, senior VP for games and emerging media at Paramount, stated that the players may get to play the other turtles through flashback sequences.

A much more interesting aspect associated with the game is that it might take inspiration from the fan-favorite game, God of War. This adds more intrigue among the gamers of the community.

The game announcement piqued fans’ interest

Though an official release date or a teaser of the game is not yet released, the announcement itself was received well among the gamers. Many were interested in finding out more about this new AAA title.
