Jimmy Donaldson, also popularly known amongst his fans as MrBeast, is a great entrepreneur and his success is ample evidence of it. Leaving YouTubers like PewDiePie behind in subscriber numbers is not a small feat after all.

He gained popularity on the internet through his various expensive stunts. He gained so much popularity that today his channel is the fourth most subscribed on YouTube. While all successful journey has a humble beginning, so did MrBeast. The popular YouTube celeb said in a recent interview that he got his first taste of this success when he was in his teens.
MrBeast’s mother didn’t want him selling Counter-Strike items
But according to MrBeast, his mother was not very keen on seeing him getting on with this business. As she asked him to close the shop once she found out he was doing this. He said, “My mom probably doesn’t like this story, but I used to play a lot of CSGO back in the day…so I would buy Counter-Strike knives and then just resell them.” Most people would agree with one thing here, that he was going in the right direction. The only thing was that his mother was just not aware of what he was building.
He mentioned buying stuff for as low as $10 and selling them for $20. This was, in fact, a profitable venture, and many people did it and some even indulge in it nowadays. Even though this business of his did not last very long, his will to make more money kept him going. As he said, this brief experience gave him a lot of experience in how to run a business.

MrBeast has a lot more going on other than his channel
All this drive has finally landed him a top spot amongst YouTube’s top creators in 2022. His primary channel stands strong at 112 million subscribers.
Aside from being a YouTuber, MrBeast also went on to start a number of branching businesses. ShopMrBeast a shop that sells his merchandise, Feastables a healthy snack store, and MrBeast Burger, a delivery first burger outlet.

And this is nothing new. Successful YouTubers end up selling their own merchandise. Jim Sterling is another big example. Today, MrBeast has come a long way from selling Counter-Strike knives to owning a number of merchandizing and food businesses. And with the pace he is growing, it can only be expected to go uphill from here.
