Overwatch is a team-based multiplayer FPS game. The American video game company, Blizzard Entertainment, developed and released the game in 2016. In this game, players form a team of six and choose a character from a roster of 30 characters to fight another team of six.

This game became a colossal hit, leading to developers to keep improving the game. They introduced new game modes and maps. However, the Blizzard’s most significant announcement was the sequel game at the 2019 BlizzCon. It’s been a long wait of over three years to witness the sequel.

Overwatch 2 will be available on early access from October 4. Also, a beta test for the game will be soon available. But the official release date is still a mystery. Further, the Xbox-Bethesda Showcase just gave some glimpses of the upcoming sequel. So, Microsoft will host another event on June 16 to reveal more about Overwatch 2.

What’s new about the Overwatch 2?

The biggest change for Overwatch 2 is that it will be free-to-play, unlike its predecessor, in which players had to buy first. Blizzard made this change to attract more gamers to play this game. However, the game will have micro-transactions which will cost real-life currency to purchase various skins and items.

Another change for the Overwatch 2 is a five v five instead of six v six. Further, the developers want both the Overwatch games to co-exist, so players in the new game can play against or with one in the old games. So, Blizzard already changed the first game’s format to five v five. Also, players can import their skins from the older game to Overwatch 2.
