Half of the year 2022 is gone, and we already saw so many new games releasing on PlayStation 5, but there are more to come this year. However, we also got to know that many more games are coming next year in 2023 at the Summer Game Fest and Xbox-Bethesda Showcase Event.

So, the upcoming year will also be full of big video game titles like this year. We will get games like Final Fantasy, Spider-Man and many more. Let’s take a detailed look at some of these most-awaited PlayStation games that will release in 2023.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Insomniac Games came up with the superhero games Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Both the superhero games turned out to be colossal hits. So, Sony ported these two games to PC in 2022.

However, that’s not the only big news as the developers are getting a sequel. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is on the way to release in 2023, but the exact release date is unknown. Further, the new game will have two Spideys, Peter Parker and Miles Morales. The sequel will feature new villains, including the symbiote Venom.

Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil is a fan-favorite horror video game series. One of the favorite characters from this series is the US agent Leon S. Kennedy. So, fans should brace themselves to relive the Resident Evil 4 adventure with Leon in a remastered version that will release next year.

The game will retell the plot of RE4, so Leon will set on the journey to rescue Ashley Graham, US President’s daughter, from a mysterious cult in a Spanish village. This Resident Evil remake will feature advanced graphics with new gameplay.

Dead Space

Another game would get a remake for PlayStation 5 next year, and it is none other than the 2008 survival-horror game Dead Space. This Electronic Arts game was a significant hit on PlayStation 3.

So it would be fascinating to play this game once again with advanced graphics and smoother gameplay on the latest-gen console.

As for the plot of the game, it will feature the same story as the 2008 game. Players will take on the role of Isaac Clarke, investigating the spaceship Ishimura to rescue the vessel’s crewmate while fighting mutated human corpses.

Final Fantasy 16

Square Enix will release the sixteenth installment of the Final Fantasy main series in Summer 2023. It would be a PlayStation 5, however, only for a limited time. Later, it will release on other platforms like Xbox and PC.

The upcoming Final Fantasy game is set in a fictional setting of Valisthea. Players will take on the role of Clive Rosfield, who travels along with his brother, Joshua Rosfield and Jill Warrick. The players have to resolve the threat named Blight.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Aside from a new Final Fantasy game, Square Enix is also releasing the sequel to the 2020 remake of Final Fantasy VII next year. The developers mentioned that they don’t just want to remake a game with new visuals, but to introduce an alternate plot.

The Final Fantasy VII remake is a trilogy series, and in the 2023 game, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second in that trilogy. The game will continue the adventures of mercenary Cloud Strife, who is on the journey to save his planet. This upcoming game will feature new characters and threats which were not there in the original game.

Alan Wake 2

Remedy Entertainment would release the sequel to the much-awaited Alan Wake. This game first came out in 2008, but Microsoft never allowed Remedy to work on a sequel because it failed to do well financially. Later, Remedy signed a new deal with Epic Games, which released an Alan Wake Remastered and announced a sequel in 2023.

The upcoming Alan Wake sequel would be an action game with horror elements. Despite having horror, the game would be in third-person. The game will continue with the protagonist of the first game but also will shed more light on supporting characters. Undoubtedly, it’s a game to look forward to in 2023.

Street Fighter 6

During the Capcom Showcase Event recently, Capcom raised curtains over the seventh installment in the series, Street Fighter 6. This upcoming fighting game will be released in 2023 for multiple platforms, including PlayStation 4 and 5.

The upcoming side-scrolling fighting game would feature a new storyline, advanced graphics, and gameplay. Further, the game would get old characters like Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, and Luke. Additionally, the game will introduce new characters like Jamie.
